Kindergarten Craft, 2nd Grade Field Trip, Julia

Have I even taken time to mention in my blog that Mrs. Haluska asked me to be Room Mom for Josiah's class? Well, I said yes and tagged Allison, Lexi's Mom, to be Co-Room Mom with me! Nice to have a friend involved and to be able to share the responsibilities. I love being involved in the classroom. We had our first Craft Friday September 23rd. We will do those about once per month. Here's my little man. The kids were allowed to be out of dress code to celebrate Fall in farmer style clothes. Josiah wore a flannel shirt and blue jeans. The craft was nice and messy with paint to create hand print trees and thumb print leaves on the trees. We all enjoyed it.
One Sunday night we hosted our H2H small group Bible study at our house. One family has a new baby girl, Julia. She has an entire fan club, you see. Mackenzie was delighted to get to hold precious baby Julia.

SOOO super sweet. I love this picture! Julia doesn't seem to mind the attention, and the kids are learning so much from being around her. I am grateful that her parents are willing to share her with our whole H2H group! Thanks, Mike and Cindy, for sharing your blessing. :)

September 29th, Mackenzie's 2nd grade class took a field trip to Safety City. Sadly, I had to work that day. However, David was able to go and represent us and enjoy the day with Mackenzie. She loved having her Daddy there, too.

Safety City is a miniature city that teaches kids all kinds of safety skills, including rules of the road.

Mackenzie is on the bike to the right with a white shirt on in the above picture. Her class really enjoyed the trip.

That was 3 posts in 1! Getting caught up! More posts to come very soon. :)

Mackenzie's Field Trip

Last Tuesday, Mackenzie's First Grade class took a field trip to Mayfield Dairy Farms! Above is our attempt at a group picture...ha, ha. She is 1 of 22 kids in her class. Before we toured the production areas, where the milk jugs are made and filled, we all had to don red hair nets. Mackenzie was embarrassed about me posting this picture, but I think it is gorgeous. I had one on, too. We all did! It was a requirement for the tour.
Mackenzie standing in line with her class after the tour ended and prior to boarding the bus.
If you look closely, you can see Mackenzie in the middle window next to Savannah. Mackenzie is holding the yellow toy ice cream cone, to the left. It was a big deal to get to ride the bus! I rode with 4 other moms. We chattered away and really enjoyed the trip, too! :) I am so thankful that I was able to be a part of such a fun day.

Nutcracker Field Trip

Today, I was able to join Mackenzie and her Kindergarten class for their first field trip--to the Nutcracker! The class rode the bus while the parents followed behind forming a caravan. Here's a picture of Avery and Mackenzie sitting side by side, ready for the show to begin!
I was surprised by the number of Dad's who made the trip in place of the Mom's who were otherwise occupied! I counted at least 8 Dads, and maybe 4 Moms. All the kids were happy to see parents at the auditorium as they got off the bus. It is fun to see the kids recognizing who's parent is who's, and it is fun to be greeted by multiple children, too! :)

Thanks to the Mease's for keeping Josiah this morning so that I could attend the field trip. It was a huge help to know that he was in good hands and having a fabulous time! He woke up at 5:45am, asking to go on over to the Mease's house. By this afternoon, he was tired...and crawled into his sleeping bag in the warmest spot in the house where the sun comes in the windows, and he fell fast asleep. Don't worry, I pulled the top back so he could breathe! ;)
And to think, he even fell asleep while Avery was here to play! He was definitely tired. The two girls had a great time playing on this Friday afternoon, though!
