Wonderful Weekend

Mackenzie and I had a "Girls Day Out" and went to Disney on Ice together. We had so much fun! She spotted a billboard advertising for Disney on Ice about a month ago. She then began telling people that we were going and she was so excited. Only problem was...we did not actually have tickets. Thanks to my papa, we ended up with tickets and thoroughly enjoyed the event! Mackenzie was living a dream. Her enthusiasm was priceless and contagious! On our way there she spontaneously said, "Mom, I love you and I just love our girl time together." Yes, I was teary eyed and we were barely even out of our neighborhood!
Several of the children around us had light up toys and souvenirs. She had nothing. The thing that struck me the most was that she did not ask for anything, though she looked longing at the other kids. I decided to take her during intermission to the souvenir stand and let her pick out an item. Her eyes were huge as she looked at the table full of toys. Within seconds, she selected a butterfly princess wand that has lights and sounds, too. Perfect! She has been asking for a princess wand for a couple of months now. How fun that she got one while at Disney on Ice!

Yeah, that picture is very blurry. At least you kinda get the idea about the beauty of Cinderella and her carriage!

And a fabulous part of our weekend was spent with the Miller Family! We were delighted to have them at our house on Thursday night. The girls thoroughly enjoyed the time together (and just did the "sisterly thing" towards the very end of the visit)! I was just enjoying the visit so much that I forgot to take pictures of the kids until this morning at church. I was able to snap some before church began.

Precious Friendship. Josiah, Laura, and Mackenzie at church today. We miss the Miller's so very much; it was a treat to get to see them this weekend!

Happy 4th Birthday x 3!!!

Mackenzie, Abby, & Laura all turn 4 within 1 month of each other. David's parents agreed to host a Birthday Party in honor of all 3 girls at their house on July 27th. As you can see by the pics that follow, a fabulous time was had by all!!! All 6 kids piled together in the swing. (Grant & Laura Miller, Josiah & Mackenzie Watson, Jonathan & Abby Fischer)
Betty found the cutest cake for the party!!!
Mackenzie, Laura, & Abby admiring the cake!
The 3 Girls.
Jonathan joined the girls for a fun (and very creative!) game of fill the sacks with wool...or stuff the socks with cotton balls.
This is what Josiah was doing while the other kids filled their sacks with wool. :)
Then we went outside for a hysterical game of "milk the cow!"
I just love this picture of David's parents preparing the game. :)
Mackenzie milking the cow while Z-pa holds it steady.
This was my attempt to get all 3 girls together for a picture. How adorable of Laura & Abby! Note my child in the back pouting! She really had an "off" day, to say the least.

Look who woke up and joined the party! Josiah "gathering eggs."
Mackenzie pinning the tail on the donkey.
Playing in the playhouse. (It is complete with air conditioning and electricity. No, I'm not kidding. Granna & Z-pa did not over look anything when it came to that playhouse for the kids.)
Andy, Rebecca, Abby, & Jonathan
Jim, Sara, Laura, & Grant
Just had to include the family pics of our dear friends on our blog, as being together was a highlight of the day.
(Realize, one family lives in Texas, one in Arkansas, and one in Tennessee!)
A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to Zearl & Betty for all the hard work they put into the planning and preparation of the Farm Birthday Party for the 3 girls. Who knows how late those two stayed up making all the fun and creative games for a very special day. They even fed us all a wonderful dinner, too! :) Thank you, Granna & Z-pa! We love you.

Mackenzie's First Sleep Over

Josiah, Laura, and Mackenzie enjoying the sprinkler. I love Josiah and Mackenzie's expressions in this picture. It captures their absolute delight that Laura was with us for the night! (Side note: The girl's swimsuits were our "faded" ones as I did not want them to get permanent paints on their good suits!)
Mackenzie Watson and Laura Miller. Precious friendship. We were truly delighted to have Laura at our house for Mackenzie's first sleep over. Yes, you read that correctly: Mackenzie's first sleep over was at our own house! :) She likes to be at home. Our whole family enjoyed having Laura with us this past Friday night. All three kids had lots of fun. The girls were up till 11:00pm Friday night and up for the day at 6:50am Saturday morning! I look forward to many more sleep overs in our future. Thanks, Laura, for coming over to spend the night with us! (This was bittersweet as Laura is moving out-of-state this week.) You are always welcome at our house, Laura!

Dollywood!

I'm a little behind on my blogging. Our Dollywood trip was last Sunday, and I'm just getting around to posting it. Below are a few pictures of the kids on the carousel at Dollywood. These are the only cute pictures we got, as the kids went from excited and happy to tired and melting down in rapid fashion. Mackenzie riding the zebra.
Josiah (and David) on the carousel.
Laura Miller (and Jim, Sara, & Grant) went with us.
Laura has her head back in this picture, but you can kinda tell that the 3 kids are lined up on their animals and ready to ride! (From left to right, Laura, Mackenzie, Josiah.) Fun day. Lots of memories made.

Park

Mackenzie playing in the car.
Josiah on the slide. Note the banged up chin and lips--poor kid!
Laura Capps at the park.
I am still figuring out how to upload more pics at one time, so I just divided the "park" into these two posts in order to upload all the pics I wanted to display!

Park with Capps!

Laura Capps and Mackenzie Watson "driving" at the park today. (I was unable to get both girls looking AND smiling for the picture, so I settled for both IN the picture!) :)
Josiah leading the way up the slide at the park today. Incidentally, he came down head first later on and it was not a pretty sight. I am thankful he is okay! We thoroughly enjoyed getting to see Kara and Laura, even though it was a distracted visit, at best! We are thankful for friendship and a fun day.

The Three Girls--Together Again!

Laura Miller, Abby Fischer, & Mackenzie Watson= Fun Times.
We thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit with the Fischer family while they were in town this weekend. Thanks to the Miller's for hosting us on short notice (as Josiah threw up earlier today and therefore we could not host) and letting the girls play. Good times. Precious friendships.

Playing at the Park

Hooray for a warm, sunny day! We were definately ready for some nice warm weather. We met some dear friends for lunch at McDonald's. The reason we went to McDonald's: so the kids could play on the playground...which this McDonald's did NOT have--HA. So, we enjoyed gourmet McD's food, loaded back into the vans, and headed to a park. I enjoyed getting to visit with Sara; Josiah, Laura, and Mackenzie all enjoyed playing together. Definately a lovely day!
