Gymnastics

Today was the day. Both Mackenzie and Josiah were moved by their gymnastic teachers to the next level. That put Mackenzie in the 5 yo class at age 4 yr 7 mo, and Josiah in the 3 yo class at age 2 yr 10 mo. I am excited that they have enjoyed gymnastics and continue to progress. I had no idea when we began gymnastics slightly over a year ago that we would still be taking lessons over a year later! I just didn't realize how much they would enjoy it and seem to excel at it. They have definitely built more strength and coordination, as well as listening skills and following directions as a result of the gymnastics lessons. Lots of fun! Just wanted to record the milestones met, more for my own sake than any other reason! :)

Gymnastics!

I finally remembered to snap a few pics of Josiah's gymnastics class! He has been taking gymnastics lessons since late May or early June, just after he turned two. You must be two years old to enroll in the parent-tot class. Mackenzie has been taking lessons for several months, and Josiah just could not wait to get out there, too! I'm so glad he is now old enough to have his own little class to look forward to attending each week. He LOVES it! Mr. Eric is the teacher. Here's the little class stretching and warming up.
Mr. Eric watching as Josiah pulls his feet up to the bar he is holding.
Josiah loves to jump into the "foam block pit" at the end of the balance beam.
Here he is doing a forward roll.

My Little Gymnist & Nona & Mzee's Visit

My momma (Nona) and Mark (Mzee) came to visit this weekend. We loved having them here, and we miss them now that they have gone back home to Arkansas. Here are some pictures we snapped while playing at Sprout with them.

Below is a picture I snapped tonight during Mackenzie's gymnastic lesson. Yes, the room is green but not THAT green! Oh, well. This is not the greatest picture in the world, but it is the best I got tonight, so I am posting it anyways. Mackenzie took ballet last semester and tolerated it; she is taking gymnastics this semester and LOVING it.
Babysitters?

For those of you local friends who read this blog...Any suggestions for a reliable babysitter for a Monday and Tuesday afternoon (about 3 hrs each day) while I go to work for two half days later this month? I have been given a few suggestions already but thought I'd gather any others you might have to offer as I have not yet made any phone calls! I do love getting those few random hours of work here and there, but it is hard to feel good about leaving the kids, too. Realize, I have not worked at all since October...I do love my job! The flexibility is wonderful. I just want to be sure the kids are cared for while I am not with them. Oh the deliema's of motherhood!

And, how do you make this spell checker work, anyhow?! I misspelled words on purpose and it does nothing...what am I doing wrong? How do you use the spell checker on blogger? Anyone? Thanks in advance! :)
