Vagabundo!

Mackenzie and Josiah enjoyed playing with a tennis ball and the crew men down here! I'd say they spent the majority of the boat ride down below just playing with those guys. We tipped the crew fairly well afterwards. :)

Um, yes, I do have hair bows for this kid. She just refuses to wear them quite often these days! The hair bow stayed in my backpack for the duration of the boat ride. It really served its purpose there. (Can you hear my sarcasm?)

Vagabundo is the name of the boat that took us on our 2 1/2 hour "City Tour" boat ride. We enjoyed seeing most of the coastline along the Banderas Bay area, which includes Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta. Other than the four of us, there was only one other couple on the boat! We had 3 "crew" men, so a grand total of only 9 of us on the boat! What a blessing to have the boat ride practically to ourselves as this gave the kids extra freedom to play in the area down below. (The first two pics of the kids on the solid white background is from "down below," so-to-speak. Is that called the hull? I really don't know my boating terminology! :)

The Church

The above pictures are all of the main church in the old city. I think it is called the Church of Guadeloupe, or something like that! I loved seeing this church and thought it made some neat pictures.

These last two pictures were taken from our "city tour" boat ride. We enjoyed seeing a good bit of the Banderas Bay area just off the coast of Puerto Vallarta, and I loved getting to snap lots of pictures of this church from the water. There is just something about the Sierra Madre Mountain Range, the old city of Puerto Vallarta, the tropical palm trees, and the Pacific Ocean, all together with the church, that I just love.
Alright. I found a postcard with the name of the church on it: "Our Lady of Guadalupe."

The Heart of the City

These pictures are all taken in downtown Puerto Vallarta, in the heart of the old city. I love the way the towns are nestled into the mountain range going right up from the ocean! Just behind the kids and me is a part of Puerto Vallarta.
David, Mackenzie, and Josiah strolling along the Malecon in the heart of the old city, Puerto Vallarta.
Have I mentioned that Mackenzie spiked a 102.6 temperature the second day of the trip? Oh, yeah. She was diagnosed with Strep at 3am by Dr. Jorge at our resort! Believe it or not, they actually delivered our medications to us at the resort by 4am! Nice service. Poor kid. She felt lousy, as evidenced by her sleeping in the stroller in the middle of the day. She had a tummy ache, "forehead ache," and rash on her arms. What a trip!
David snapped this picture of the Hard Rock sign. It really shows how Puerto Vallarta has the old (500 year old city) and the new all together. Apparently David was behind the camera a lot during our trip into the heart of the old city. Seems I am in most of these pictures.
Josiah and me in front of Senior Frogs in downtown Puerto Vallarta, also on the oceanfront. We did not eat at any of these restaurants. We went to Feliz Pollo instead! We were looking for the more local, authentic places, ourselves.
